It’s being a long summer on the festival circuit, so we can forgive Ellie Goulding if her voice sounds a little weary. She’s also got reams of energy and charm to draw on, bossing her way around the stage and drawing a terrific shift of work from her slick, in-the-pocket band.

Whether it’s Starry Eyed or Figure Eight, the huge main stage audience are singing every line back, and Goulding has enough craft about her work to strip it down to piano and voice for a midset Your Song without losing the crowd.

The chartastic I Need Your Love and Goulding’s propensity for rock-star poses all complement a quality set from a proper pop artist at the top of her game.
