When it comes to storylines, White Knight Chronicleswon't set the world on fire with a typical tale of a kidnapped princess and two kingdoms at war. The titular White Knight is an ancient weapon whose power is accidentally unlocked by a young man named Leonard as he tries to save the princess from a rogue sect known as the Magi. Leonard fails, leaving him the task of tracking down the Magi and the princess, encountering various enemies along the way.
Like so many of the new games produced for consoles, WKCis visually stunning. However, gameplay can be a little slow, and some of the monsters, while great to look at, are too easy to bump off. In battle, you can transform into the giant White Knight, which allows you to challenge your enemies. But while the combat is essentially turn-based, you can make things more interesting
by creating your own combo attacks, or taking on one of the side quests to gain weapons. Online elements, as usual, add a new dimension.
