Gardaí and emergency services are at the scene of a “public order incident” at a premises on the Malahide Road in Coolock, according to a Garda statement issued on Wednesday night.
“As this is an ongoing matter, no further information is available at this time,” the statement said.
The statement was issued about 8pm on Wednesday in response to queries about reports of a fire at the site of the former Crown Paints premises in Coolock which was previously subject of several anti-immigrant protests.
Last November, the High Court refused to grant injunctions halting plans for migrant housing on the site which was the scene of violence, fires and unrest during last summer over a proposal to develop prefabricated units to house 741 international protection applicants.

Townbe Unlimited Company, the company leasing and proposing to develop the site, has since secured confirmation from Dublin City Council that its proposal is exempt from certain planning guidelines.
