Vodafone Ireland will sponsor Ryan Tubridy's new programme on RTÉ Radio 1 under a one-year deal. The communications company will concentrate on promoting its broadband and home phone services in its sponsorship stings for the programme, which begins on RTÉ Radio 1 next Monday at 9am.
After five years at 2fm, Tubridy is taking over the one-hour slot between Morning Ireland and Today with Seán O'Rourke previously occupied by John Murray.
The show is billed by RTÉ as a “fast-paced entertaining and informative 60 minutes of morning radio”.
RTÉ recently signed up Lloyds Pharmacy to sponsor Liveline, while Volkswagen sponsors The Ray D'Arcy Show. News programmes on radio cannot be sponsored, but programmes classed as current affairs are allowed sponsorship.
