As Glanbia gets to better know the vagaries of the consumer market in the United States, it is also becoming more familiar with suit-hungry US consumer lawyers.
Since the Irish company started expanding in the US nutritional products market in recent years, it has been hit with several class-action cases for what appear to be minor alleged indiscretions.
The latest? Filed in a district court in California this week: a law firm reckons Glanbia’s Optimum Nutrition doesn’t completely fill the oversized containers for its body-building supplements. No whey, man!

West Coast Litigation is putting together a consumer class action suit for the alleged “non functional slack fill”. It reckons the suit will be for more than $5 million. Given the tenacity of US consumer lawyers, Glanbia has surely bulked up its legal team.
