Two wines, new to Dunnes this week. Dunnes has been carrying several other wines from the Laurent Miquel Solas range, but the chardonnay is a new and welcome addition. At €10, it offers good value for money.
The Côtes de Bourg is one of the lesser-known appellations of Bordeaux that can also offer great value for money. Dunnes recently introduced the wine below and the Château Gazin-Mourier, both offering good value at €12 a bottle.

Laurent Miquel Solas Chardonnay 2024, IGP d’Oc
12.5%, €10 (down from €12.50)
A fresh unoaked wine with clean green fruits, good acidity and a dry finish. A good all-rounder to drink by itself, with white meats or most fish dishes.

Saint Francis Provisions review: Wonderful food and wine in a Kinsale room built for chat

Château Bois de Tau 2022, Côtes de Bourg
14%, €12 (down from €15)
This is an attractive medium-bodied Bordeaux with blackcurrant fruits overlaid with spice and notes of tobacco. Enjoy it with roast lamb or beef, or roast Mediterranean vegetables.
