There is an increasing demand for lower alcohol wines from consumers seeking a healthier lifestyle. Most traditional wines are between 12 and 15 per cent alcohol by volume, while lower alcohol wines can be anything from five to 11 per cent.
They are usually brighter and fresher with good acidity and light ripe fruits. While they can be consumed without food, most are perfect for casual dining with mixed plates of salads, fish, and grilled vegetables.
