The confirmation of the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus was no real surprise. We’ve been expecting it for months, and it follows Apple’s trend of a major upgrade followed by a smaller one for its smartphones. But some features in the iPhone 6S are worth looking at. If the improved camera –12 megapixels (mp) for the rear camera, 5mp for the front-facing one – doesn’t grab you, perhaps the ability to shoot 4K video will. Or maybe the introduction of 3D Touch, the new addition to multitouch, will. That changes how the iPhone reacts to a press on the screen, opening up quick menus and sneak peeks at messages. Or maybe you just want a new colour, with rose gold added to the line-up.
Either way, you can be guaranteed the new iPhone will sell in millions. There's no Irish release date yet, but some networks are taking registrations for preorders. apple.com
