“Carrie Dolan’s monster free in injury-time earned Galway revenge over Cork as they edged a quite extraordinary All-Ireland senior camogie final to win the O’Duffy Cup for only the fifth time," Gordon Manning writes from C”oke Park.
“Galway, beaten by Cork in last year’s decider, appeared to have stumbled just metres from the finish line at Croke Park on Sunday after seeing their five-point half-time lead wiped out in the final minute of normal time when the Leesiders drilled home a goal to draw level.
“However, the Tribeswomen simply refused to accept the momentum of the day had switched irretrievably in Cork’s favour.”

After putting in a fine individual display, Galway full-forward Ailish O’Reilly is interviewed right after the final whistle. She says her side felt written off coming into the game, with the focus on Cork’s three-in-a-row bid.
Galway’s Carrie Dolan lifts the O’Duffy Cup in Croke Park after a brilliant final.
The Camogie president Brian Molloy has handed over the O’Duffy Cup to Galway captain Carrie Dolan, crowing them champions for 2025.
Galway have stopped Cork’s three-in-a-row bid in an absolute cracker at Croke Park. Cork’s strong bench told in the second half, as they pulled level through Orlaith Cahalane’s late goal, but Galway’s Carrie Dolan scored an unbelievable free to win it.
Full-time: Cork 1-13 Galway 1-14
Galway are the 2025 All-Ireland Senior Camogie champions!
64 Mins: Sabina Rabbitte gets on it but can’t slip the next player in on goal. Cork have it back now with Hayes, but her ball is a poor one and Galway outnumber them near their goal. Cork 1-13 Galway 1-14
62 Mins: Kate Wall fouls Carrie Dolan out very wide, about 55m out. Dolan takes the free and it is truly a thing of beauty. Galway lead again! Cork 1-13 Galway 1-14
60 Mins: GOAL for Cork!!! Orlaith Cahalane levels the match with four minutes of additional time to be played. Some finish, but Galway made a massive lapse in judgment as they left her one-on-one in the full-forward line. Cork 1-13 Galway 1-13
59 Mins: There’s massive pressure on the Cork forwards shooting into the Hill. Cork seem to have more energy, but Galway have the willpower to keep at it regardless, and there’s still three in it after an extended Cork attack. Cork 0-13 Galway 1-13
57 Mins: Saoirse McCarthy hits another free over, putting just a goal in it. Cork 0-13 Galway 1-13

48 Mins: Laura Hayes strikes a superb shot over the bar from distance under massive pressure. Galway are tiring just a bit now... Cork 0-11 Galway 1-11

40 Mins: Niamh Mallon does really well to drive into space and pop over Galway’s first score of the second half. Cork 0-9 Galway 1-10
38 Mins: Clodagh Finn is on for Cork. She drives at Roisin Black straight away and the Galway full back has to pull her back. The resulting free is popped over. Cork 0-9 Galway 1-9
36 Mins: Cork’s Saoirse McCarthy hits a wide from a free out wide on the 65. So far though, the Rebels’ defence is holding out the Galway forwards well in the second half. Emma Murphy gets her second point of the game to put four in it. Cork 0-8 Galway 1-9
32 Mins: We’re back underway now at Croke Park. Galway’s Sarah Healy has fairly routine save to make right after the throw-in. Galway’s first attack ends in a wide at the opposite end. Cork 0-7 Galway 1-9
It’s been a hectic and intense game so far, with Galway deservingly taking a surprise lead into half-time. Hannah Looney’s red card late in the half has done Cork no favours either, but there’s plenty of time for them to get back on course in their pursuit of the three-in-a-row.
Half-time: Cork 0-7 Galway 1-9
32 Mins: Red card for Cork’s Hannah Looney! Two Galway players make a small bit of contact with the Cork midfielder as they await a line ball, and she turns and flattens one with shove/strike to the face. Cork 0-7 Galway 1-9

25 Mins: Hawkeye is called into use for the first time in this match. Bizarrely, it’s directly over the black spot from Galway’s Ailish O’Reilly when the computer checks it. Cork 0-6 Galway 1-7
22 Mins: Carrie Dolan points her third free of the day to increase the margin back to three. Disaster nearly strikes for Cork as a bad back-pass results in pressure on ‘keeper Amy Lee, who cedes possession to Caoimhe Kelly. Kelly can only put it over though as the goal gapes. Amy O’Connor scores a free then for Cork. Cork 0-6 Galway 1-6

4 Mins: The first score of the game is a cracker from Aoife Donohue after a one-two from a line ball. Hannah Looney responds right after though, another great score. Then the Tribeswomen pull back in front from a free by Carrie Dolan. Cork 0-1 Galway 0-2
2 Mins: Chaotic start to the senior final as both sides battle for possession in the centre of the pitch. No score yet. Cork 0-0 Galway 0-0
With the teams off on the parade now, it’s a perfect time to read Denis Walsh’s preview of the final. He’s tipping the Rebels to make it three in a row.

40 Mins: A very important save by Aoife Fitzgerald to deny Offaly’s Mairéad Teehan from 14 yards. Fitzgerald has not conceded a goal yet in championship.
