Flowers remained outside the flat of a man in his late 50s who died in a fire in Dublin yesterday.
The blaze broke out during the early hours of yesterday morning in a flat at Constitution Hill in the north inner city.
Alerted to the incident at 3.17am, Dublin Fire Brigade commissioned three fire engines, an ambulance and an emergency tender with a ladder to attend the scene.
Fire officers from Phibsborough Garda station found the man in the flat, which is next door to a creche, at about 3.30am. He was pronounced dead at 3.37am.
Yesterday, the groundfloor flat was preserved by gardaí. The Office of the State Pathologist and the Garda Technical Bureau were notified, a Garda spokeswoman said.
The block of flats overlooks the barrister training college, and King’s Inns. A postmortem is due to take place today.
