The Sligo Contemporary Music Festival continues today and tomorrow in the Blue Raincoat Theatre on Lower Quay Street. At lunchtime today, the Crash Ensemble plays a mixed programme, providing a rare Irish outing for a piece by the Hamburg-resident Irish composer, Frank Corcoran, along with works by Maria Ryan, Eric Sweeney, Giacinto Scelsi, Fergus Johnston and David Lang. And in the evening (8pm) the Crash Ensemble and guests give a concert of music by Roger Doyle (left). Tomorrow's events, all of which are free, feature an open rehearsal (11am) of works from the New Music for Sligo/IMRO Composers' Competition, which this year boasts an international as well as a national section as well as workshop performances of the winning pieces (2.30pm).
